Ok so, completed the storyboard.
I animated it too so that i could get a feel for the timing. I also added a rough audio of the script.

I went through the shots yesterday and decided with more detail on the lighting. These might change as the location and shot dictates but thats just small changes.

Anyway, filming today, using the green screen so we will see how that goes........

Been a while since i updated the blog. So been busy busy busy, with deadline aproaching rather to quickly.
With the rough plan of story done, i set about writing a first draft of the plot. Once the pace and key events were planned out i went about 'beafing' it up a little. Thinking about different shots and dialogue.
So iv got a rough script and the plot is pretty solid.
Storyboard is underway, doing it all on Photoshop, which seems to saving some time for some shots but i do have to stop myself being to piccy with storyboard pics :D

Not only have i been working on the storyoard, script etc but iv done some concept images of the main character......
oh i forgot to mention, as with the last titled short 'the detective' this short will be called 'The Warrior'.
So anyway, ill put up the concept pics to. They were fun to create but also let me visualise how i wanted the charcter to look and then in turn be or act.
For example, i decided that i wanted him to look evil, almost demonic, but at the same time he will be the nicest of people inside.

Ok so its been a while since iv gone near this.
Basically iv been doing research more so on the technical side. so less on artists or directors and more on camera movements and compositions and the such like.
So in the doing this, i created a promo video for the 'Granite City Invitational' with of course my partner in crime Tym(budding writer and director)

Not only have I done the promo which can be seen on facebook but I filmed the actual comp to(with tym of course)

So we had 2 hd cameras, a trolly, 3 tripods(just cause, b4 u ask) lots of lights and a very large extention cord :D

So its filmed, and may i add it was very cold that night :( but free beer helped. still needs edited but iv been pretty busy.

Anyway onto more things and iv started drawing up what locations and what Aberdeen is going to look like in the shorts im doing. Stay tuned for some concepts.


Right so thats it for today but ill get some pics up when i scan them in, so be patient and ill get some prcs up for u uys :D

The Beginning

First blog ever........ hmmm well we will see if i can keep you guys up to date with my goings on.

To start, this year at uni (Pem3) I have set some pretty high goals for myself (as usual I never seem to make my life easy). Animation and film projects running along side each other is never an easy task as I'm finding out(the hard way lol).

First half of this year i have created a trailer for a short film. After it was made I realised that making the short would maybe not fit into the time scale i have, so what iv decided is to make a bunch of shorts/trailer/teasers of characters that will be in the same city/area as the first character.
Ill keep u posted on how this goes....

The animation i created was and still is a huge learning curve for me and the big thing was time. So what I've done is to break it into 2 parts. First part was done last year and the second, the first part of this year. Created completely digitally for the first half, I'm now going to create the other half the old fashioned way and completely by hand(or well the drawing part :D)

So thats you up to speed with what iv done and what's going to be happening, so keep checking ths space for updates.
